My wife and visited the island this summer with two of our closest friend. We had a rental in Habour Grace and using that as our home base, we visited many of the local communities. Brigus was recommended by a few people as a 'must see' place and we were not lead astray. The entire town was so beautiful. The homes. The landscape. The ocean and the people. It was beyond expectations and I know that we'll be back!!
My father Alonzo Morrissey and his family are from Brigus. My father and Mother Elizebeth Long of North River mover to work at the Stevenville US Airforce Base where I and my brother were born. The last time I was in Brigus was 1966. My wife and I will be in time for the blueberry festal for about 2 weeks. We have been looking forward to this for a long time.
My Grandfather, Samuel Clarke, was from Brigus (B 1881m d 1921). I love reading about your beautiful town and hope to visit in the next year or two
Being originally from here, I have always enjoyed my trips back over these many years.
I passed through the town of Brigus on a bright summer week-end. It was so pretty stayed a couple days. It was well worth it.
I spent 2 weeks on the island in March. It was the first time I ever saw a frozen ocean, must less cross one. I had a lunch break in Brigus and it was so interesting I spent the rest of the day exploring. Cold but Beautiful!
